This home, then owned by ESPN college football commentator Kirk Herbstreit, was burned down by fire crews in Upper Arlington, Ohio, for training in 2004. Herbstreit had expected to get a tax deducion but was denied.Lured by free demolition and hoping for a tax deduction, some homeowners have let fire crews burn their homes down for training purposes. The IRS argues it’s hardly a charitable donation.
